Ingredients

  1. Gumbo
  2. 2 cupWater
  3. 2 tbspTomato paste
  4. 200 gramsOkra
  5. 1/2 tspCajun seasoning (optional)
  6. 1 tspOld bay seasoning
  7. 1 mediumOnion chopped
  8. 3 clovegarlic
  9. 200 gramsMedium shrimp deveined and peeled
  10. 200 gramsBasa fish cut into large cubes
  11. Rice
  12. 1 cupWhite rice (rinsed)
  13. 2 cupWater
  14. 1/2 tspSalt

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Rince rice and put to boil in pan with two cups water and 1/2 tsp salt, reduce heat cover and simmer for 20 min or until done

    In pan sauté onion, garlic and okra until onions are transparent.

    Add in basa fish, water, spices, and tomato paste. Bring to a boil and then lower heat and simmer for 10 minutes stirring occasionally.

    Add shrimp and simmer for another 8-10 minutes.

    Serve in bowl with scoop of rice on top
