Ingredients

  1. 1 cupwater
  2. 3/4 cuplight corn syrup
  3. 1/2 cuptomato paste
  4. 2/3 cupvinegar
  5. 1/3 cupdark brown sugar
  6. 3 tbspmolasses
  7. 1 1/4 tspliquid smoke (hickory flavored if you can find it)
  8. 1 tspsalt
  9. 1/4 tsponion powder
  10. 1/4 tsppepper
  11. 1/4 tspground mustard
  12. 1/8 tsppaprika
  13. 1/8 tspgarlic powder
  14. 1 dashcayenne pepper

Steps

  1. 1

    Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan over high heat and whisk until smooth.

  2. 2

    Bring mixture to a boil.

  3. 3

    Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 45 minutes or until thick.

  4. 4

    Cool.

  5. 5

    Store in a covered container in the refrigerator overnight.

  6. 6

    *This recipe makes about 1 1/2 cups of sauce.*

Some of my favorite things are family, friends, my pets, cooking, baking, football (Badger & Packer), Brewer baseball, college basketball, car racing, thrift stores, volunteering, and rummage sales. I have a 9 year old rescue dog, and 7 birds ( 6 are rescue) and they range in age from 1 year to over 19 years old. I volunteer for a dog rescue and a shelter, as well as other festivals and organizations.
