Ingredients

4 servings
  1. 1 1/4 lbground sirloin
  2. 1/4 cupbrown sugar
  3. 2 tspsteak seasoning (may want to increase to 1 Tablespoon and I used Montreal Seasoning)
  4. 1 eachonion (chopped)
  5. 1 eachred bell pepper (chopped)
  6. 1 tbspred wine vinegar
  7. 1 tbspworcestershire sauce
  8. 2 cuptomato sauce
  9. 2 tbsptomato paste
  10. 4 eachcrusty rolls, split, toasted and lightly buttered (I used hamburger buns)
  11. 1 tbspextra virgin olive oil
  12. 1Garnish: sliced ripe tomatoes, pickles and whatever you like

  1. 1

    Heat a large skillet over medium heat.

  2. 2

    Add oil and meat to the pan, breaking it up and spreading it around.

  3. 3

    Combine brown sugar and steak seasoning and add it to skillet. Combine well.

  4. 4

    When meat is brown, add onion and red bell pepper to skipper.

  5. 5

    Reduce heat to medium and cook onions, peppers, red wine vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce with meat for 5 minutes.

  6. 6

    Add tomato sauce and paste to pan. Stir to combine.

  7. 7

    Reduce to simmer and cook mixture 5 more minutes.

  8. 8

    Scoop mixture on bread, top to your choosing and serve.
