Ingredients

  1. unstuffed cabbage
  2. 2 lb93% lean ground beef
  3. 28 ozcan of crushed tomatoes and 2 cans stewed tomatoes, 14 ounces each
  4. 1 largeonion thinly sliced
  5. 4 cloveof garlic thinly sliced
  6. 1 mediumhead of cabbage, shredded
  7. 1 tbspWorcestershire sauce
  8. 1 tbspcaraway seeds
  9. 1 tbspbrown sugar
  10. 1/2 tbspsalt
  11. 1/2 tbsppepper
  12. 1/2 tbspbalsamic vinegar
  13. 4 cupalready prepared rice, white or brown , ( hot)

Steps

  1. 1

    In large stock pot or dutch oven, add any oil you like to saute beef with onion and garlic until beef in no longer pink.

  2. 2

    Add in crushed and stewed tomatoes, salt ,pepper, brown sugar, vinegar, Worcestershire and caraway seeds to beef.

  3. 3

    Simmer covered for half an hour, then add cabbage. Stir and cover to simmer until cabbage is wilted about 10 -15 minutes.

  4. 4

    Serve in large bowl over hot rice.

  5. 5
