Ingredients

  1. 1 cupoats, dry roasted
  2. 1/4 cupmoong dal (split green gram), soaked for 2-3 hours
  3. to tastesalt
  4. 1small onion, chopped
  5. 1 tsp.ginger, grated
  6. 1 tsp.garlic, grated
  7. 2-3 tbsp.coriander leaves, chopped
  8. 1-2green chilies, chopped
  9. to tastesalt
  10. 1/2 tsp.turmeric powder
  11. 1/2 tsp.roasted cumin powder
  12. 1/2 tsp.nigella seeds (kalonji)
  13. 1/4 tsp.pepper powder
  14. oil to shallow fry

Steps

  1. 1

    Grind the soaked moong dal with very less water into a paste. Mix with rest of the ingredients (except oil) into a dough.

    Divide into small equal portions and give any shape you desire. Refrigerate for a couple of minutes.

    Heat 1-2 tbsp. oil in a pan and shallow fry these tikkis in batches till they are light golden in colour.

    Serve as an appetizer along with green chutney/sauce or as a tea-time snack.
