Rinse the rice and sauté it in 1 tablespoon of ghee with 2 pieces of mastic, a pinch of ground cardamom, cinnamon, turmeric, ground dried lime, bell pepper, mushrooms, and grated carrot.

Add the broth and tomato juice.

Once the liquid is absorbed, add the sautéed mixed vegetables.

Note: You can make this dish with either Egyptian or basmati rice, but I used Egyptian rice.

The vegetables are steamed. You can also cut the carrot into small pieces, and sauté the grated carrot with the rice, mushrooms, and bell pepper.
