Preheat oven to 375°

In a mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in 110-115° water

Add sugar, 1/4 cup butter, shortening, eggs (must be room temp), salt, and 2 cups of flour

Beat until smooth

Add enough of remaining flour to form a soft dough. (May take a little extra flour)

Turn onto a lightly floured surface

Knead until smooth and elastic (about 6-8 minutes)

Place into large greased bowl (shortening)

Turn once to grease the top of the dough

Cover with towel and allow to rise in a warm place until dough doubles in size (about 1 1/2 hrs)

Punch dough down amd divide in half (will deflate)

Roll each portion into a 12 inch circle

Melt remaining butter (2 TBS) and brush over dough

Cut each circle into 12 sections and roll up

Place on a greased baking sheet, about 2 inches apart

Cover and allow to rise until doubled (with a dry cloth around 45 minutes)

Bake for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown
