In a medium bowl, blend taco seasoning mix with refried beans. Spread mixture into a large rectangular pan (I've always used my 9x13 glass dish for visual appeal).

Mix sour cream and cream cheese in a medium bowl--be sure to mix well. Spread this over the bean layer.

For the third layer, pour the entire bottle of salsa over the sour cream layer. A bit of lime juice and cilantro on this layer give the dip a little more zing.

For the fourth layer, spread the lettuce over the salsa. The fifth layer is the tomatoes. The sixth layer is the green pepper and green onions. The seventh layer is the cheese. Garnish with the black olives (which are optional).

Best served chilled, just out of the refrigerator.
