In a small saucepan heat 1 cup of water and 3 tablespoons of butter over medium heat until melted. Remove and allow to cool.

In a small bowl add 1/2 cup of warm water and yeast.

In a large bowl mix buttermilk, honey, sugar, salt, and vinegar. When butter is warm to touch add to the bowl and then add yeast mixture.

Begin adding bread flour one cup at a time. When dough is too stiff to mix with wooden spoon, about 5 cups, turn out on a floured board.

Knead in the remaining flour until dough is firm and smooth. Put dough in a buttered bowl and let rise for 45-60 minutes in a warm place covered with towl.

When dough doubled in size, punch down, knead bubbles out, and divide into two equal halves.

Preheat oven to 375°F. Form two loavs. utter two bread pans. Cover and let rise for 30-45 minutes, doubled in size.

Melt 1 Tbsp of butter. Brush on bread tops. Using a Sharpe knife cut three slits across bread tops. Place in oven and bake 45 minutes until golden brown. Remove from given and let cool in rack.
