Steps

Place the water in a sauce pan and heat it on a medium flame. Bring to a boil.

In a bowl combine the sugar, cornstarch, and salt; mix well.

Add the sugar mixture to the boiling water. Cook on low flame stirring continuously until the mixture is thick and clear.

Remove from the heat and stir in lemon zest, lemon juice, and butter.

Serve the sauce warm over slices of pound cake or Bundt cake or drizzle over bread, pudding, or pancakes.

Note- Add sugar as per your requirement. I have added 1/4 cup of sugar.you can add upto 1/2 cup.

Note- you can add one or two drop of lemon yellow food colour.
