Zalabia (Egyptian Donuts)

Mix all the ingredients together until you get a smooth, liquid batter. Cover and let it rise for 2 hours.

Using a small spoon dipped in oil, scoop some batter and drop it into hot, deep oil to fry.

Remove the zalabia from the oil and place them in cold syrup. Then transfer them to a strainer to drain any excess syrup.

Once cooled, place them on a serving plate.
