Ingredients

10 mins
2-4 ppl
  1. 1/2 cupmayonnaise
  2. 1 Tablespoondill pickle relish
  3. 2 teaspoonsvinegar
  4. 1/2 teaspoonpaprika
  5. 1 teaspoongarlic powder
  6. 1 teaspoononion powder
  7. 1 teaspoonmustard powder
  8. 1/2 teaspooncrushed mustard seeds
  9. 1/2 teaspoonwhite pepper
  10. 1/2 teaspoonsugar
  11. 1/2 teaspoonsalt

Cooking Instructions

10 mins
  1. 1

In a small mixing bowl, use a small spatula to mix all the wet ingredients: mayo, dill relish, vinegar. Chopped dill pickles may be substituted for relish.

  2. 2

Add in all the dry spices, sugar and salt. Yellow mustard and coarse brown mustard may be substituted for mustard powder and mustard seed.

  3. 3

Please note: The ingredients list for commercially available Big Mac Special Sauce has a surprising amount of mustard on the label (and no ketchup whatsoever). Do NOT skip the mustard, otherwise your sauce will taste like a french dressing or thousand island dressing variant.

  4. 4

Allow sauce to rest at least 30 minutes to properly meld and rehydrate the dry ingredients. Mix throughly again after resting. Store in refrigerator using a open mouth container like a jar or small tub.

I really love to cook for family and friends. It is strange because when I was younger I had no interest in cooking until I met my boyfriend. I really wanted to impress him, so I decided to make a romantic dinner of lasagna. I never cooked anything before this dish but it turned out great! Not only was I surprised about how edible it was, I was truly shocked that I enjoyed the whole cooking process. My man was so impressed :) Needless to say, I have been cooking any and everything ever since. I love to spoil family and friends by making special dishes and surprising them because it makes my day to see someone enjoying something that I made with love. I love to create recipes in my head and then test them out with family and friends. Everyone enjoys the party and I get to share my passion with the ones I love!
