preheat oven 375° F 190° C

Beat sugars, butter, vanilla until creamy

add eggs, beat well

Combine flour, baking soda, salt, add, beat.

Stir in chocolate chips and nuts, if using.

Drop on ungreased baking sheet.

Bake 9-11 min. Cool on baking sheet 2 min. remove to rack

makes 5 dozen.

For bars, put dough on greased jelly roll pan. Even out with wet hands. Bake 20-25 min.
