Unniyappam

Unniyappam (Unni appam) is a sweet dish from Kerala. Unniyappam is a small round snack made from rice, jaggery, banana, coconut, roasted sesame seeds and cardamom powder fried in oil/ghee
In Malayalam, ‘unni’ means small and ‘appam’ means rice cake. Unniyappam is made as divine Prasad to praise Lord Ayappam.

Dry roast rice & wheat flour slightly brown.

Blend jaggery, raisins & banana in a blender. Grate fresh coconut

Mix all ingredients in flours.

Add water & make thick batter like Idli. Keep it aside for 20 minutes.

Heat appe pan. Pour ghee in each pit.

Pour batter in each pit.

Cover the lid. Cook on slow flame until golden brown.

Flip it with wooden stick. Now cook again until golden brown.

Transfer into serving plate. once cooled serve them.
