Steps
- 1
Boil water in a big enough pot/pan. Add 3 or so pinches of salt to water BEFORE boiling.
- 2
Peel and cut potatoes in quarters.
- 3
While the potatoes are in the water, slice the baby carrots into small pieces
- 4
Grab a small sauce pan, put carrots in the pan...set to low heat.
- 5
Take a little butter and toss it over carrots, stir it around until carrots get nicely glazed.
- 6
This is optional, but you can add a pinch of salt and garlic powder to the carrots. Let them heat up until they're a little soft.
- 7
Keep an eye on carrots so they don't burn, if they start to just turn the burner off and set aside.
- 8
Once water is boiling, toss potatoes in... and let them sit for a while until they soften, NOT mushy. BUT you do want them a little firm still! (Little hint, if you put a wooden spoon/fork over pot it will not boil over!) :-) :-)
- 9
!!!!! You want the potatoes where you can stick a fork in with very little effort!!!!!
- 10
Drain the potatoes, add the milk and butter to the pot.
- 11
Use a masher or whatever you prefer to mash potatoes with. Add the seasonings to your preferred taste. Add carrots.
- 12
Mash potatoes up until everything is mixed in well...and enjoy! :-)
