Ingredients

  1. 1 cupBasmati rice/any rice -
  2. 1 cupCoriander leaves/kothamalli ilai - tightly packed and a handful
  3. 2-3cloves
  4. 1 inchpiece Ginger -
  5. 2-3Green chilli -
  6. as required Salt
  7. For the seasoning
  8. 1 tbspOil
  9. 1 tspCumin seeds/Jeera-
  10. 1 inchcinnamon

Steps

  1. 1

    Cook rice in such a way that the grains are separate.

  2. 2

    Wash coriander leaves under running water 2-3 times. Chop it and grind it along with ginger and green chilli using very less water. Keep the paste aside.

  3. 3

    Heat oil in a pan, add cumin/jeera seeds, when it sizzles, add cloves, cinnamon

  4. 4

    Saute until the raw smell goes and oil separates.

  5. 5

    Mix rice and serve it with any raita. Voila! A tasty, quick and satisfying rice dish is ready.
