So good. You could probably add ground cloves if you like the taste and omit some of the cinnamon, but I don't care for cloves, so I keep it simple. Be sure to use potholders while stirring, it can bubble quite high!

Ingredients

6 servings
  • 16 quartUnsweetened applesauce
  • 8 cupSugar
  • 1 cupVinegar
  • 4 tspCinnamon

Steps

  1. 1

    Combine all ingredients in canning pot. Cover and Boil until mixture is a smooth mass when a bit is cooled, about 1 1/2 hours. Stir frequently to prevent burning.

  2. 2

    Pour into sterilized jars w/in 1/2 inch of top. Place lid on and firmly tighten, using potholders.

  3. 3

    Process in boiling water bath for 10 minutes.

  4. 4

    Yield: 6 pints
