Preheat oven to170°c grease & line 20cm round cake tin

Using an electric mixer, beat butter & sugar together for 1 minute or until creamy.

Add eggs one at a time, beating well between each addition.

Using a wooden spoon, mix in the mashed bananas.

Sift flour and mixed spice together & fold into mixture. Pour into prepared pan & bake for 45 minutes, or until firm. Cool in tin for 10 minutes before turning onto a cake rack to cool completely.

To make icing: Place all ingredients in a medium bowl & beat with an electric mixer for 1 minute or until smooth. Add more lemon juice if necessary, spread over cooled cake.
