Milky Way Cake

This is an easy moist delicious cake that my family enjoys. My husband who is not a fan of chocolate cake, enjoys this and has requested that I make for the company potluck. I found this recipe in one of the Cake Mix Doctor books and has been a go-to recipe for a number of years. That said, the size of candy bars have changed over the years. To make this easy for me, I usually buy 2 packages of the small candy bars that have 8 in a pack and use one for the cake and one for the glaze.

Steps
- 1
Preheat oven to 325°F. Mist Bundt pan with vegetable spray and dust with flour. Shake out excess flour.
- 2
Melt Milky Way bars and 2 Tbsp of water in pan over medium-low heat; stirring until melted (3 to4 minutes). Remove from heat. Set aside.
- 3
Place cake mix, 1 cup water, melted butter and eggs in large mixing bowl. Blend on low speed 1 minute. Stop and scrape sides of bowl mix 2 more minutes on medium speed. Continue scrapping down the sides batter should look thick and well combined.
- 4
Measure out 3/4 cup of batter and pour into the cooled candy bar mixture. Add flour and stir until the mixture is smooth.
- 5
Pour remaining plain batter into the prepared Bundt pan.
- 6
Spoon the Milky Way mixture in a ring on top of the batter making sure not to touch the sides of pan with chocolate batter. With a dinner knife, swirl through he batter to create a marbled effect.
- 7
Place in oven and bake 45-50 minutes. Cake is done when it begins to pull away from the sides of pan.
- 8
Removed from oven and place on wire rack to cool for 20 minutes. Run sharp knife around edge of the cake and invert it onto a rack to cool completely, 20 minutes more.
- 9
FOR GLAZE: Place Milky Way bars in saucepan over medium-low heat. Add butter and water. Cook stirring until smooth, about 3-4 minutes.
- 10
