Ingredients

1 cupSugar
1Egg
3/4 cupCrisco
4 tbspDark molasses
1 tspCinnamon
1 tspGround cloves
1/4 pinchSalt
1 1/2 tspBaking soda
2 cupAll purpose flour
1 cupWhite sugar to roll balls

Steps

Cream sugar, egg, crisco and molasses until fluffy. Add spices, salt, soda and flour. Mix with wooden spoon and form into walnut size balls. Drop each ball into sugar and roll covering it completely. Bake at 375 for about 8-10 minutes.
