
Ukrainian Easter Bread by Flossie (Babka)
Steps

Dissolve yeast in the milk which has been scalded and cooled to lukewarm.

Make sure the milk is under the temperature of 110°F.

Add 3 cups if the flour, mix and let rise double in bulk. Place in large bowl and put in a warm place. Cover it with a cotton cloth.

Do this step the night before you want to make it.

In the morning, add eggs, sugar, butter, raisins, vanilla, salt and enough more flour to make a light dough.

Allow to rise in warm place until double in bulk.

Turn out onto floured board, knead well, using more flour, if necessary, to make a medium dough.

Put into 2 large greased loaf pans and let rise again until doubled in bulk.

Bake at 400°F for 10 minutes. Reduce oven to 350°F and bake for 50 minutes more..
