Steps

Mix powder sugar, shortening, milk and vanilla with mixer, add melted butter and mix well. At this point you may add small amounts of additional milk to reach desired consistency.

Use white frosting, or color using gel colors.

This frosting recipe is great for frosting cut out cookies as the top layer of frosting dries enough that you can store slightly stacked cookies with layers of wax paper in a storage container to keep them fresh.
