Ingredients

  1. 150 gramsSemi-sweet or bittersweet chocolate, chopped
  2. 113 gramsUnsalted butter (1 stick), cut into pieces
  3. 2 tbspCocoa powder
  4. 1 cupGranulated (white) sugar
  5. 1 tspPure vanilla extract
  6. 3 largeeggs
  7. 3/4All purpose flour
  8. 1/4 tspSalt
  9. 3/4 cupSemi sweet chocolate chips (optional)

Steps

  1. 1

    Preheat oven to 180 C and place rack in centre of oven. Grease 20cm square pan and line bottom with baking paper

  2. 2

    Melt chocolate and butter in large stainless steel bowl placed over simmering water. Remove from heat and stir in cocoa powder and sugar

  3. 3

    Whisk in vanilla and eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in flour, salt and chocolate chips

  4. 4

    Pour in pan and bake for 25-30 mins, or till toothpick inserted in centre comes out with a little batter and few moist clumps. Do not overbake!

  5. 5

    Remove from oven and let it cool on wire rack. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream
