Ingredients

  1. Steak and Marinade
  2. 2 1/4 lbflank steak
  3. 1/3 cupteriyaki sauce
  4. 1 1/2 tbspsoy sauce
  5. 1 1/2 tbspred wine vinegar
  6. 1 1/2 tbspWorcestershire sauce
  7. 1/4 cupminced yellow onion
  8. 1 clovegarlic, minced
  9. 2bay leaves
  10. 1 pinchground cloves
  11. 2 tbspwhite wine
  12. 1vegetable oil
  13. Mushroom Sauce
  14. 6 ozsliced mushroom
  15. 2 1/2 tspsherry
  16. 2 1/2 tspred wine vinegar
  17. 3 1/2 tbspsoy sauce
  18. 3 1/2 tbspWorcestershire sauce
  19. 2 1/4 cupwater
  20. 2 tspminced garlic
  21. 1 dashground cloves
  22. 2/3 cupteriyaki sauce
  23. 1/4 cupcornstarch
  24. 3 tbspwater

Steps

  1. 1

    Place steak in a large ziplock bag

  2. 2

    Combine all marinade ingredients in a bowl and whisk together to blend

  3. 3

    Pour marinade into the bag with the meat

  4. 4

    Marinate steak in refrigerator for 3-4 hours

  5. 5

    Preheat grill or grill pan on medium-high heat

  6. 6

    Brush the grill with vegetable oil before cooking to desired doneness (For medium rare, cook about 6-8 minutes per side)

  7. 7

    Remove from heat and allow meat to rest for 5 minutes prior to slicing (cut across the grain of the meat thinly using a sharp knife)

  8. 8

    Place first 9 ingredients for the mushroom sauce in a 2-quart saucepan

  9. 9

    Bring sauce to a boil, reduce heat to a simmer, and cook for about 5 minutes

  10. 10

    Combine cornstarch with water in a small bowl to make a slurry

  11. 11

    Drizzle the slurry slowly into the simmering liquid to thicken

  12. 12

    Bring back to a simmer

  13. 13

    Serve steak with mushroom sauce
