These are the spices I used .

Soak the rice in water for 20 minutes after rinsing it .

Heat oil in a pan and add the spices except saffron . After the aroma of the spices come out, add sliced onions and fry until golden brown.

Now add the ginger garlic chilly paste and fry for 20 seconds till the raw smell goes off .

Add tomatoes and fry for 2 minutes . Add the rest of the vegetables now and coat them with the oil . Stir for 1 min . Add the powder ingredients one by one and finally add salt.

Now add the soaked rice and coat it wil the oil . Pour water in the ratio of 1:2 as rice:water . Let the mixture boil .

Add the lemon juice and the pinch of saffron . Stir for 2 minutes .

Close the pressure cooker and leave 2 whistles in medium flame .

Open the container after it has nicely cooked . Garnish with corriander leaves and Serve hot with accompaniments like curd or yoghurt .
