Ingredients

  1. indian spices
  2. 1/2 tspanise seeds
  3. 1bayleaf
  4. 2star anise
  5. 3cardomom
  6. 2cloves
  7. 2bar anise
  8. 2cinnamon
  9. 1/2 tsppoppy seeds (khus khus)
  10. 1pinch of saffron
  11. pulao proper
  12. 300 gramsbasmati rice
  13. 3large onions- sliced
  14. 1large tomato-chopped
  15. 1large potato-chopped
  16. 1few beans
  17. 1carrot-sliced
  18. 100 gramscabbage
  19. 2 tspginger garlic chilly paste
  20. 4 tbspoil
  21. 1 tbspfresh lemon juice
  22. salt
  23. powder ingredients
  24. 1/2 tspground cumin
  25. 1/2 tspcorriander powder
  26. 1 tspdry mango powder
  27. 1/2 tspgaram masala
  28. 1/2 tspred chilly powder
  29. ground black pepper

    These are the spices I used .

    Soak the rice in water for 20 minutes after rinsing it .

  3. 3

    Heat oil in a pan and add the spices except saffron . After the aroma of the spices come out, add sliced onions and fry until golden brown.

  4. 4

    Now add the ginger garlic chilly paste and fry for 20 seconds till the raw smell goes off .

  5. 5

    Add tomatoes and fry for 2 minutes . Add the rest of the vegetables now and coat them with the oil . Stir for 1 min . Add the powder ingredients one by one and finally add salt.

    Now add the soaked rice and coat it wil the oil . Pour water in the ratio of 1:2 as rice:water . Let the mixture boil .

  7. 7

    Add the lemon juice and the pinch of saffron . Stir for 2 minutes .

    Close the pressure cooker and leave 2 whistles in medium flame .

  9. 9

    Open the container after it has nicely cooked . Garnish with corriander leaves and Serve hot with accompaniments like curd or yoghurt .
