This is a age old tasty and delicious side dish for rice, curd rice, Jowar roti, ragi mudda etc
Steps

Fry chopped onions with mustard, jeera,methi, salt till golden brown. Add turmeric powder and curry leaves

Add a glass of water and allow it to boil
- 3
Add thick tamarind juice, chilli powder, little jaggery, salt to taste, Dhania powder (check for my Dhania powder recipe) and boil till the gravy thickens

Optionally you can add roasted till powder or kopra powder or both
