When it's a weekend, pasta means love, actually penne to be precise. So this Saturday our breakfast table was graced with this penne arrabiata. The spicy and yummy pasta dish cooked with amazing red blanched tomatoes, chilli flakes and garlic.
Steps
- 1
Blanche the tomatoes in boiling water. You should leave the tomatoes in there for just 10-15 seconds.
- 2
Immediately remove them into chilled water. Take the out and peel them.
- 3
Deseed these tomatoes and chop them finely.
- 4
In a pan, add butter/olive oil. I used butter as I ran out of olive oil. Butter works well for this dish in case you don't have olive oil. Add chopped garlic and red chilli flakes and saute them well. Make sure they do not get burnt.
- 5
Now add the chopped blanched tomatoes and cook. While this is getting cooked, in another burner boil a good amount of water with a pinch of salt and add pasta to it. All this while keep checking the tomatoes, so that it doesn't get burnt. Add chopped parsley while this is getting cooked.
- 6
After the pasta gets soft, strain them.
- 7
Add the pasta immediately to the cooked tomato sauce.
- 8
Toss the pasta a little. Add salt and cook for a while. After this turn off the gas. Add some grated Parmesan and toss again. Make sure the pasta doesn't break.
- 9
Serve the penne arrabiata hot. Sprinkle some oregano seasoning and grated cheese on the top. Penne Arrabiata is ready to treat you.
