Ingredients

20 minutes
4-5 servings
  1. 1/4 cupmoong dal
  2. 1/2 cupoats
  3. 1/2 tspcumin / jeera
  4. 1/2 tspginger grated or crushed
  5. as neededSalt
  6. as neededghee
  7. Generous pinch of turmeric
  8. Pinchhing
  9. 1/2-3/4 cupchopped veggies (use any)
  10. 2Carrots
  11. 2Onions
  12. 1Bell pepper
  13. 1/2 cupCauliflower
  14. 1/2 cupPeas
  15. 1 tspGaram masala

Steps

20 minutes
  1. 1

    Wash and soak moong dal in water till used.
    Wash and chop veggies.

  2. 2

    Add ghee to a hot pot. Add cumin. When they sizzle, saute ginger till it turns aromat. Do not burn.
    Add hing.

  3. 3

    Add all the veggies and saute for about 2 to 3 minutes.
    Add oatmeal, salt and fry for about 2 minutes.

  4. 4

    Drain the water from dal and add it to the pot. Fry for about 2 to 3 minutes till the dal smells good.

  5. 5

    Add oatmeal, salt,turmeric and fry for about 2 minutes.
    Pour water. You can adjust the quantity of water to make it mushy or slightly grainy. On a medium flame, pressure cook for one whistle.

    If desired can add little more ghee.

    Serve oats vegetables khichdi hot,by sprinkling Garam masala.Very healthy and tasty.
