I find this recipe easy to make and also no need to buy condensed milk

In a bowl whip the egg yolks and sugar till soft peaks form

Add the warm milk and whip under medium heat until it thickens

Sieve the mixture into another bowl and allow to cool
- 4
Whip the whip cream till it forms soft peaks
- 5
Add the cooled mixture folding into the whip cream add desired essence n color
- 6
Freeze for at least 4 hours
- 7
Serve with desired topping

I was so happy to find a recipe that wasn't using condensed milk so I could use erythritol instead of sugar but I didn't get the same result as the 3 ingredients ice cream recipes...
Any idea what could have happened ?
( was thinking that maybe I was supposed to use 2 egg whites instead of the yolks? )
