  • 1/2 kgPrawns
  • 1 tspChilli Powder
  • 1/4 tspTurmeric Powder
  • 1 tspLime juice
  • 3Cloves
  • 1Cinnamon stick
  • 4-6Green chilies
  • 2Onion
  • 1 tbspGinger Garlic Paste
  • 2 tspChilli Powder
  • 1/2 tspTurmeric Powder
  • 3/4tspBlack Pepper Powder
  • 1Tomato
  • 3 sprigsCurry leaves
  • Coriander leaves/ Cilantro: little for garnishing
  • 2 tbspOil

    Clean and devein the prawns. Marinate with Ginger garlic paste, Chilli Powder, Turmeric Powder, Pepper Powder, salt and lime juice for half an hour to one hour. In a nonstick pan, add ½ tbsp. oil and stir fry the marinated prawns for 2 minutes. Transfer to a plate.

    In the same pan, pour 1 ½ tbsp. oil, add crushed cloves and cinnamon, then green chilies, curry leaves, followed by chopped onion. Sauté till onions are transparent and add Ginger garlic paste. Fry for some time and add chilli powder, pepper powder and turmeric powder. Now, add the chopped tomatoes and fry till they are mashed well. To this, add the semi cooked prawns and combine well.

    Cover and cook on low flame for few minues, stirring occasionally. The masala should coat the prawns well. When it is done, transfer to a serving plate and garnish with Coriander leaves. Your spicy hot Prawns Masala is ready. Enjoy!
