Steps

Clean the rice and dal and saute it lightly and separately

Heat a pan with oil and saute the potatoes and cauliflower separately

Place a vessel with 5 cups of water and put the dal into it and let it cook

Add the potatoes, cauliflower and rice into the dal and let it cook with lid covered

Add 2 teaspoon of ghee in a hot pan and add the cumin seeds, bay leaves, cardamoms, cinnamon.once they crackle add the Ginger, green chillies,tomatoes and saute it

Add all the powder masalas into some water and add it to the pan.Add as much salt and sugar needed into this

Put this mix into the khichdi mix prepared in step 4 and mix well. Keep it in low flame till it is well cooked

Serve it with chutney, papad and fries
