Ingredients

  • 500 gmsChicken -
  • 2Sliced tomato - medium size
  • 2Sliced onion - medium size
  • 1 tspTomato puree -
  • 1 tspKashmiri mirch powder -
  • 1/2 tspTurmeric powder -
  • 1 tbspLemon juice -
  • 1 tbspWhole coriander seeds -
  • 4-5Whole red chilli -
  • 2 - 3- Cloves
  • 2-3Green cardamom -
  • 1Black cardamom -
  • 3-4Whole black pepper -
  • 1 inch stickCinnamon -
  • 3-4Star anise -
  • 1/2 tspCumin seeds / jeera -
  • 1/2 tspFennel seeds / sauf -
  • 2 tbspGinger garlic paste -
  • 7 - 8Curry leaves -
  • 1/2 cupGrated fresh coconut -
  • to tasteSalt -
  • 1/2 cupOil -

Steps

  1. 1

    Dry roast the whole red chilli,cloves,whole black pepper,whole
    coriander seeds,cumin seeds,fennel seeds,green cardamom,black cardamom,cinnamon,star anise and also dry roast the fresh coconut and make a powder.

  2. 2

    Marinate chicken pieces with kashmiri red chilli powder,turmeric powder,lemon juice,1tbsp ginger garlic paste and salt.

    Keep in the freeze for an hour.

  4. 4

    Heat oil in a pan

  5. 5

    Add sliced onion fry till light brown.

  6. 6

    Add curry leaves and 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste and mix well.

  7. 7

    Add marinated chicken and sliced tomatoes and cook cover in a low flame for 15 mins.

  8. 8

    Add roasted spices and 1/2 cup of water.

  9. 9

    Serve with chaptatis.
