Made this dessert for a friend when he was craving his mom’s bread Halwa, a dessert eaten commonly after a heavy meal of Biryani. The basis of the recipe was given to me by him. End result he said that it tasted better than his mom’s! What is a better compliment? 😌

Made this dessert for a friend when he was craving his mom’s bread Halwa, a dessert eaten commonly after a heavy meal of Biryani. The basis of the recipe was given to me by him. End result he said that it tasted better than his mom’s! What is a better compliment? 😌
Steps

Cut off the crumbs/edges of all the bread slices. Cut them into small square pieces.

Deep fry them in hot oil until they turn golden brown.

Fry some dry fruits in a tsp of ghee.

Bring the water to a boil. Add the sugar to it and let it completely dissolve. Turn off stove after you get 1 string consistency.

Add the sugar syrup to the fried bread pieces.

Once the water from the sugar evaporates, add the ghee to the bread and mix well.

Transfer the dry fruits to the bread and mix well.

Continue to cook it till the oil separates out like shown in the picture. Remove from stove. Garnish with chopped pistachios. Serve hot.
