Ingredients

Serves 4 servings
  • 1 2/3 poundslean ground pork (about 750 grams)
  • 3 clovesgarlic, finely chopped
  • 1/3onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cupsseasoned tomato puree (about 17.5 ounces or 500 grams)
  • 2smoked chipotle peppers, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoondried marjoram, crushed
  • 3 tablespoonsvegetable oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • 2.2 poundscorn tortillas (about 1 kilogram)

Steps

  1. 1

    Heat the oil in a large skillet. Add the onion and cook for about 4 minutes until softened, then add the garlic.

    Once the garlic is fragrant, add the ground pork and cook thoroughly until browned and any liquid has evaporated.

    Add the tomato puree, half a box of water (about 1 cup or 250 ml), chipotle peppers, marjoram, and salt. Mix well. Simmer over medium-low heat for about 15 minutes.

    Warm the tortillas.

  5. 5

    Serve the meat in the tortillas. Add your favorite salsa, such as red or green, if desired.
