There's a great Mexican restaurant in my hometown, but 3 steak tacos are $12 and I knew I could make my own for alot cheaper, and just as good.

It did take a few attempts, but this is now one of my go-to recipes for when I have taco cravings (which is too often).

Ingredients

1 1/2 Hours
8-10 Tacos
  1. 1Flank Steak, trimmed
  2. 1 TbspChili Powder
  3. 2 tspGrated Lime Rind
  4. 1/2 tspSea Salt
  5. 1/2 tspChipotle Seasoning
  6. 1/4 tspfresh cracked Black Pepper
  7. Juice of 1/2 Lime

Cooking Instructions

1 1/2 Hours
  1. 1

Put flank steak in gallon zipper bag. Add lime juice and massage meat.

  2. 2

Combine Chili Powder, lime rind, salt, Chipotle seasoning and black pepper. Shake into bag with meat and rub to cover. Put meat bag in refrigerator for 1 hour.

  3. 3

Set grill to medium-high heat. Cook flank steak for 6 minutes per side or until desired doneness.

  4. 4

    Let rest for 10 minutes.

  5. 5

    Cut meat diagonally across grain.

  6. 6

Serve topped with your choice of salsa (I highly recommend my avocado salsa recipe) or onions and cilantro.

  7. 7

Note: toast your taco shells on the grill, they only take about 15-20 seconds until they puff up and they're so much better than on a pan or microwaved.
