I tried this after frequent visits at garden city just to buy them so expensively, and I decided I won't get poor of caramel popcorns anymore....homemade sorted now!

Pop your kernels and sort out the unpopped ones

Heat the butter to melt, add brown sugar and thoroughly mix the two into smooth paste

Allow it to cook for about 5minutes, add vanilla essence and let it cook for about 2minutes as you stir the paste

Add baking soda, let it cook for another 2minutes to allow it to raise, thin and change color into golden brown
- 5
Once it's thinned, use a spoon to sprinkle it on top of the popcorns as you turn them to achieve the golden look

Allow it to cool before you serve.
