I have gained weight recently maybe because I have been baking a lot of cakes and eating them! So, now I am Kanten diet. I intake this Kanten before each meal to lose weight! I will add other variation, too but possibilities are unlimited with your imaginations!

This is a Japanese popular Tomato Kantan Jelly recipe. You can modify it as you like. Then, eat them before meals preferably about 30 mins prior to the meal. The soluble fibre in Kanten will expand in your stomach and give you satisfaction. If you intake 5-15 g of Agar Agar powder per day, hopefully, you will see good results. Please start with about 5g per day and please make sure drink plenty of water for agar to expand fully in your stomach.

Agar Agar is full of soluble fibre and will expand in the stomach, so gives you satisfaction and various health benefits of soluble fibre. Ingredients

  • 400-500 mlTomato juice. (If you use 500ml, the jelly becomes softer. Tomato juice is a really good option for wellbeing and weight loss.)
  • 4 gagar agar powder (Please use water more than 100 times of agar agar powder.)
  • (1 TBS (half) of lemon juice) optional
  • [Variations]
  • 400-500 mlMilk
  • 400 mlWater (just Agar Agar or with honey. You could use for cooking or desserts as well.)
  • 400-500 mltea or coffee

Steps

    Put all ingredients, except lemon juice into a pan and mix them well. Bring it to boil. Then, simmer 1 min, keep stir. Please do not simmer more than 2 mins. Leave it to cool down a little bit and add lemon juice in order not to destroy vitamin C.

    Pour the mixture into a container which wetted with water (make the container wet in order to take out easily when it set.).
    Then, cool it down. When it set, it is ready to use. You could cut them into cubes and you could eat them before meals or can use for pasta etc. I will upload other recipes to use it.

    You can use it in salad or pasta as well.
