Ingredients

  • For boiling Ingredients :-
  • 1.1/2 cup Chavli seeds
  • 1 ltr Water
  • to tasteSalt
  • For Onion Coconut Paste :-
  • 2chopped onion slice style
  • 4 spoonGrated fresh Coconut
  • Water for paste as require
  • For Gravy :-
  • 3-4 spoonOil
  • 2finely chopped Onions
  • 1finely chopped Tomato
  • 1spoon Ginger Paste
  • 1 spoonGarlic Paste
  • 1/2 tspTurmeric powder
  • 1 tsp.Garam Masala powder
  • 1.1/2 tsp Red chilli powder
  • 1spoonGoda Powder
  • 1Green chilli mid sliced
  • Some Coriander leaves chopped
  • to tasteSalt

Steps

Step by step
  1. 1

    In pressure cooker Black eyed peas. Add water & Salt. Let cook till 4-5 whitseles.

  2. 2

    In a pan add chopped onions soute it golden brown. Than add coconut and little salt and soute them till brown. Keep it aside to cool.

  3. 3

    In the mixture jar add souted onions and coconuts add water too and grind them smoothie paste. Keep this paste aside.

  4. 4

    In a pan add oil and heat it.

  5. 5

    Add chopped onions soute it.

  6. 6

    Then add Ginger & Garlic paste. Soute them for few minutes.

  7. 7

    Add Termeric powder, Goda powder, Red chilli powder, Garam Masala powder and soute them well.

  8. 8

    Add chopped tomatoes, mixed them till tomatoes are get soft.

  9. 9

    Then add the boiled black eyed peas along with water & cooked till stirr.

  10. 10

    Cover it with lid let cook them for 10 - 12 minutes.

  11. 11

    Finally Chavali chi Usal ready to eat. Serve with chopped Coriander leaves. Etc.
