I guarantee this dip is tasty though it looks horrible. It’s a perfect Halloween party food! This dip is based on the basic ‘Hummus’ recipe. I simply tried to make black coloured ‘Hummus’ using Black Beans and Black Tahini. Jalapeño is highly recommended, but it’s optional.

Ingredients

  • 1Canned Black Beans *400g, drained
  • 1/4Red Onion *chopped
  • 1-2 tablespoonsBlack Tahini *OR White Tahini
  • 1 cloveGarlic
  • 1-2 tablespoonsLemon Juice OR Lime Juice
  • 1 tablespoonOlive Oil
  • 1small Jalapeño *finely chopped, Pickled Jalapeño is OK
  • 1/4 teaspoonSalt
  • 1/2-1 teaspoonGround Cumin
  • to tasteBlack Pepper

Steps

  1. 1

    Place all ingredients in a food processor and process until combined.

  2. 2

    Taste it. You may wish to add more Lemon Juice or Salt. Add required seasonings or spices, and process again. Serve with corn chips.
