It is very popular traditional sweet dish of India from Maharashtra.

Steps

First place the sieve in large bowl. Place cottage kerchief or kitchen napkin in it.

Pour curd and tie it tightly. Put little weight over it and keep it in a refrigerator. Keep it for 6 to 7 hours or overnight.

Now hung Curd is ready. It is Approximately 1.2 kg. Soak saffron strands in milk. Keep it aside.

Take this hung curd in large mixing bowl. Add saffron, cardamom powder and powder sugar. Mix gently with spatula.

Whip the hung curd using electric beater. Whip it for about 5 to 6 minutes or till it becomes smooth.

Shrikhand is ready. Serve chilled.
