Ingredients

  1. 300 gpotatoes (peeled and diced)
  2. 400 gbeef mince
  3. 2carrots (peeled and diced)
  4. 1onion (diced)
  5. 1 pintgood beef gravy
  6. 2 tspgarlic (minced)
  7. to tasteSalt and pepper
  8. 1 tspmixed herbs
  9. 1 tbspmarmite
  10. 2 tbspplain flour

Steps

  1. 1

    Brown mince off in a pan and drain excess fat. Meanwhile add potatoes to a pan of boiling water and boil until soft.

    In a saucepan add a little oil and fry off onion, carrot and garlic until softened. add salt, pepper, mixed herbs and flour stir well and cook for 1 minute. Add mince,marmite and gravy, stir well bring to the boil and then reduce to simmer for 20 minutes.

    Meanwhile mash the potatoes with a little milk and butter, season well. In a suitable dish layer the mince mixture then top with the mashed potatoes. Flatten out to create a smooth surface. Then score with a fork to make a pattern, sprinkle with grated cheese and bake at 190c for 45 minutes until golden brown.
