Ingredients

  1. 2 cupsdry milk powder
  2. 1 cupheavy cream
  3. 2/3 cupsugar
  4. 1/4 teaspooncrushed cardamom
  5. for decoration red fondant for decorating
  6. as required Edible pearls
  7. few strands saffron
  8. pinchOrange colour
  9. 2 dropsOrange essence

Steps

  1. 1

    Mix sugar and cream in a pan. Heat until it boils and all sugar dissolves.
    Add this mixture to the milk powder in a glass bowl and heat in the microwave until the mixture becomes solid.
    Keep stirring in between so that no lumps are formed. This will take around 12-16 minutes or more depending on the microwave power.

    Add the saffron and cardamom and orange essence. Mix thoroughly and let the mixture cool. Divide into equal sized round shaped balls. Shape into rounds or use moulds to make pedas.
    Top it with fondant and edible pearls.
    Store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator and serve when required.

Hi all, my name is Rekha. I am Indian by birth, born in Uganda, East Africa, I now live in Wilby, Northamptonshire/England.I retired at the age of 60 due to severe arthritis. I am married, a mother and grandmother.I learnt to cook from my parents at a very young age of seven. I started to cook simple dishes for the family and gradually learnt how to cook. My mum use to cook at our shop where we sold Indian sweets and savouries. I have learnt a lot from my mum. I started cooking fusion dishes and learning from others. My strong point is making sweet dishes and innovating new dishes. I can improvise and be creative in leftover dishes.I love being on Cookpad because I can share and learn new recipes. I have also made a lot of friends.
