Steps
- 1
Take a bowl of boiled black chana. Make sure the chana are cooked well.
- 2
Take a glass of rice and wash it thoroughly.
- 3
Now take a cooker and add ghee/oil in it. Once heated add the jeera. Wait till jeera turn brown, now add sliced onion in it. Stir them occasionally till onions turn brown.
- 4
Now add two glasses of water in it and let it come to boil. Always take double quantity of water than the quantity of rice.
- 5
Once water come to boil add the washed rice and black chana in it. Stir it for a few seconds so the rice won't stick on the base of the cooker. Add salt, chilli powder and black pepper in it. Now close the lid and keep it on the high flame.
- 6
Turn off the flame after one whistle. And open after a couple minutes, so rice won't over cook.
- 7
Now enjoy the tasty chana rice with curd, raita or achar.
