Ingredients

4 servings
  1. 1Beef Steak *about 300g
  2. Salt & Pepper
  3. Oil for cooking *optional
  4. Salad Vegetables 200g in total (Lettuce, Spinach, Rocket, Celery, Carrot, Onion, Avocado, etc.)
  5. <Dressing Base>
  6. 4 tablespoonsPonzu
  7. – or –
  8. 2 tablespoonsSoy Sauce
  9. 1 tablespoonRice Vinegar
  10. 1 tablespoonCitrus Juice *Lemon, Lime or Yuzu
  11. 1/2 teaspoonSugar *optional
  12. 1 teaspoonToban Djan (Chili Bean Sauce)
  13. 1 teaspoonChilli Garlic Sauce
  14. 1Fresh Chilli *finely chopped
  15. 1 cloveGarlic *grated
  16. 1small piece Ginger *grated
  17. 1 teaspoonSesame Oil
  18. 1 teaspoonWasabi
  19. 1 teaspoonHot Mustard
  20. 2-3 teaspoonsToasted Sesame Seeds
  21. 1 tablespoonOnion *grated

Steps

  1. 1

    Mix ‘Ponzu’ (OR Soy Sauce, Vinegar, Citrus Juice and Sugar) with any additional ingredients of your choice. This time, I added Garlic, Ginger, Toban Djan (Chili Bean Sauce) and Sesame Oil.

    Arrange the salad vegetables on a large plate. Season the steak with Salt & Pepper.

  3. 3

    Heat a frying pan or a grill pan over high heat. When hot, cook the steak for 2-3 minutes each side, or until cooked to your preference. Set aside to rest for 5 minutes, then slice thinly.

  4. 4

    Arrange the sliced steak over the salad, drizzle with the dressing and serve.
