First,In a cooker add dal, water, salt, turmeric and cook until 80 % done.

For tadka, Heat the khadhai add oil cumin,pinch of hing seeds ginger, garlic green chillies and saute for few mins add onion saute them till semi golden add tomatoes then add Coriander saute well.pour the tarka into dal cook for few min. Serve hot with rice or Chapati.

For tempering put khadhai on high flame add 1/2 tsp oil add cumin red chilli pour on the dal.
