Steps

First, cream the butter with the shortening and meringue powder until the mixture becomes pale.

Gradually add the sifted powdered sugar.

Add the vanilla or your preferred flavor (I also like to make it lemon-flavored with a tablespoon of lemon juice and zest) and gradually add the water. The amount varies depending on the climate! Only add until you reach the desired consistency!

You can add gel food coloring as you like.

You can refrigerate this frosting for up to 2 weeks in an airtight container. When using it, take it out of the fridge a couple of hours before, beat it for a couple of minutes, and it's ready!

The sky's the limit for decorating with this frosting!

You can cover cakes, make designs, etc.

Remember, practice makes perfect! I sometimes practice on glass molds to avoid wasting cake!
