Ingredients

120 mins
12 servings
  • 1 Lbbag of dry pinto beans
  • 1/2 cupchili powder
  • 2 Tbspminced garlic
  • 1Lg onion chopped up
  • 1Lg green pepper chopped up
  • 1 Pkgsmoked ham hocks
  • 1 Canrotel
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • Enough water to cover top of ham hocks (+ 2 cups)

  1. 1

    Soak pinto beans for two hours in cold water.

  2. 2

    While soaking beans cook ham hocks until half way done.

  3. 3

    Add beans and rest of ingredients and stir to combine. Heat on high until it comes to a steady boil. cook on high for 5 minutes stirring occasionally.

  4. 4

    Reduce heat to medium low and simmer for one to one and a half hours checking for water level periodically. Add water as needed or if needed.

  5. 5

    Cook until beans are tender. Serve and enjoy.
