Nimona(Bihari style)

The delicious taste of nimona will tempt everyone to eat and cook again and again.If you are cooking Nimona then you do not need to cook any daal or curry.It goes with plain rice and Amla pickle.The speciality of Bihar is any traditional dish is cooked in earthenware or aluminium handi.But i have used cooker.Must try it.

Steps

Grind the Green peas in grinder.As shown in the picture.

Heat the oil and add cumin seeds,dry chillies,bay leaf asafoetida.Saute it for a minute.

Add onions,garlic and saute it for 2 minutes.

Now,add tomato puree and fry

Add salt, Turmeric powder, Coriander powder,chilli Powder and fry untill aroma of spices comes out.

Now,add grinded green peas and mix well for 5 minutes.

Add chopped tomatoes and mix well.

After 2 or 3 minutes add 1 glass of water.it's upto you, you can add more water

Stir it well.

Now,let it give 1 pressure.(almost 5 minutes on higher flame).if you are using handi then let it be cooked for 10 minutes on lower flame.

Open the cooker.Pour it out into the bowl.Garnish with soya or coriander leaves.Serve it with plain rice and amla pickle.
