Steps
- 1
Gather all the ingredients.
- 2
Use a 9 1/2-inch (24 cm) Bundt pan or tube pan (this makes a large flan).
- 3
Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C), and prepare a water bath (bain-marie).
- 4
In a saucepan, add the sugar and a little water to make the caramel.
- 5
When the caramel turns a golden color, pour it into the pan and spread it evenly. Set aside.
- 6
In a bowl, add the eggs and sugar, and beat well.
- 7
Add the milk and mix.
- 8
Add the heavy cream and continue mixing.
- 9
Add the sweetened condensed milk and mix thoroughly.
- 10
Finally, add the cream cheese.
- 11
Make sure there are no lumps. If there are, blend the mixture in a blender until smooth. Pour the mixture into the pan and bake for 40 minutes. Check doneness with a toothpick before removing from the oven.
- 12
After 40 minutes, this is how it should look.
- 13
Remove from the oven and let it cool completely. Once cool, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 6 hours.
- 14
Run a thin knife around the edges to loosen the flan, then unmold.
- 15
Decorate with cherries.
- 16
This flan is very creamy.
- 17
Delicious!
- 18
Ready to eat!
