Wash the lentils

Saute the onion, garlic, ginger in the oil. Add in the tomatoes. Add in masala paste or powder now. Saute well.

Add in the lentils, salt and water. If you have turmeric, add half a teaspoon of that.

Pressure cook. Once it is coooked, stir it well. Add salt if necessary. Garnish with chopped.cilantro. Serve with Naan, chapati or rice.
